Eventos para la familia

One of the main barriers that hinder many Latinx students from achieving a college education is linguistical barriers to college resources. HCAP hosts an annual event called Noche De Padres (translated into "Parent's Night") to inform Latinx parents and students in Spanish and English about various resources to help their children overcome barriers in accessing post-secondary education. HCAP leaders discuss key topics such as financial aid (FASFA), tuition, college applications, and future career paths. After the presentation, families will be allowed to ask UNC Charlotte undergraduate students and alumni their personal questions and get in contact with more resources to increase their knowledge about the college experience.

This year, we will be hosting Sábado de Padres on Saturday, March 26th from 9 AM - 12 PM at Southeast Middle School in Salisbury, NC. We welcome any parent who is interested in learning how to help their children prepare for the college application process to attend this event! Although this event will be most beneficial to high school students, the earlier K-12 students learn about how they can prepare for college, the better! Education is power!
